I was born in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri and traveled the world as a military brat. My work is driven by the writings of philosophers such as Blaise Pascal, Joseph Campbell, H.P. Lovecraft and Albert Camus. Their philosophies explore the nature of human existence, how we cope with mortality, and the duality of that experience. These questions and theories are as ancient and important, as art itself. Working in painting and installation allows for a sort of playground where the polar differences between these ideas can be appropriated and resituated. I am able to rearrange the universe, and play out my own narrative for how it functions.
