Academic background

Summary of research

My research focuses on the interactions between microbial communities and their hosts. To understand the mechanisms that regulate host-associated microbial diversity and function, I use ecological theory, natural microcosms, experimental manipulations and cutting-edge molecular and bioinformatic tools. In my lab, we focus on research questions related to microbial metacommunity dynamics, ecosystem function and eco-evolutionary dynamics.
