2013 Internship Reception

The School of Business Internship Reception, held on May 9th, celebrated a successful semester of hands-on learning opportunities.  Internship experiences included working with local businesses and a few departments on campus providing assistance in a wide range of areas such as marketing, accounting, strategic planning, social media and software application. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) delivered valuable free tax assistance to members of the community, while teaching students about tax law and the ability to research technical issues, both of which are vital lifelong skills.
The reception honored the student interns, their supervisors and gave special recognition to Carol Anne Smullin Brown of the Smullin Foundation, who made these internships possible and graciously attended our event.
Students visually demonstrated their accomplishments and the added value to the businesses through poster story boards on display throughout the Great Hall.
