Tyler Stumpf teaches management classes in the School of Business at HSU. He completed his MBA at Gonzaga University, and his PhD in Business Administration from Washington State University. Tyler formerly served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Micronesia (2002 – 2004), where he then spent several additional years working as a teacher and entrepreneur. Tyler’s main area is service business management, particularly related to the hospitality industry. Much of his research has focused on hotel and tourism business management in Pacific Island countries. Dr. Stumpf’s research has appeared in Journal of Sustainable Tourism, International Journal of Hospitality Management, and Cornell Hospitality Quarterly – Special Issue on Sustainability & Eco-Innovation.
In addition to his work at HSU, Tyler enjoys riding his bike, travel, and being outdoors with his family.
