Moonrise Paddle

May 2, May 30 & July 31
Come for a Saturday evening paddle and watch the moon rise through the Humboldt Bay mist. We provide a choice of kayak or canoe and experienced guides to run these short hour and a half adventures.

Introduction to Windsurfing

May 9

With some of the world's greatest windsurfing spots right here in Humboldt County, this is an opportunity to learn one of the most versatile forms of sailing. This course is designed for beginners, combining both a classroom pre-trip session as well as an outdoor. Participants will get familiar with the sport by learning the basic knots, equipment and weather considerations needed to enjoy windsurfing.

Graduation Rafting the North Coast

Celebrate graduation and all your hard work with a day of adventure on one of the North Coast’s premier stretches Class III whitewater, intermixed with serene, relaxing sections ideal for swimming and wildlife viewing. The river we choose will be dependent on river flows and conditions. Guests and family members are welcome.

Wilderness First Responder with Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS and American Heart Association CPR

May 20 - 29

This challenging 80 hour course is designed to provide outdoor leaders, instructors, guides, rangers and travelers with the knowledge needed to deal with emergencies in remote settings. This class meets national standards for urban and extended care situations and is recognized by many agencies, schools and institutions. All levels of previous training are welcome. Successful course completion earns you a WMI Adult & Child CPR certification and a WMI Wilderness First Responder certification. EMTs will earn a Wilderness EMT certification. All certifications are current for two years. Please note that the registration deadline is well in advance of the course. Introduction to Archery

May 23

This course is designed to introduce beginning archers to the basic fundamentals of the sport in accordance with the National Training System; this includes: proper posture and alignment, aiming, the release and follow through. This class will utilize the hands-on application of using a bow and arrow in conjunction with demonstrations and lectures. This course will also discuss the proper care and use of archery equipment.

Introduction to Sea Kayaking

May 23, June 13, July 18, or August 8
The North Coast has some of the most scenic and pristine coastline available for sea kayaking. On this one-day excursion in the Humboldt Bay our instructors will cover boat handling, improved paddling efficiency, tides, currents, weather and water safety considerations, and open water pad- dling techniques. This course will prepare you to safely set out on your own adventures. No experience is necessary.
