Introduction to Sailing

September 24 - 25


Come participate in two full exhilarating days at gorgeous Big Lagoon and learn to harness the wind. We use two of the most popular sailboats, the Olympic-class Laser, and the fun, user-friendly Pico. Each sailor will learn the fundamentals of sailing, from assembly to rigging and maneuvering, ho to launch, and even capsize recovery! In addition, you will learn sailing theory and have boatloads of fun!

Mandatory Pre-trip Meeting: 
Thursday • September 22 • 6:00 – 7:00 PM • Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center
Program Fee: 
$135 HSU Students • $150 All Others
Program Fee Includes: 
Instruction, sailboat, equipment, and gear.Transportation will be by carpool. Camping at Big Lagoon is optional.
