Center Activities Staff

Dave Nakamura, Director
Dave manages the operations and development of Center Activities Programs including Outdoor Adventures, Aquatic Adventures, the Leisure program, the Student Recreation Center and the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center. Dave has over 20 years experience in the Recreation Administration profession.
 

Bridget Hand,  Manager
Bridget assists the Director in managing the operations and development of Center Activities Programs including Outdoor Adventures, Aquatic Adventures, the Leisure program, the Student Recreation Center and the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center. Additionally, she coordinates the collaborative departmental efforts within the Recreation & Wellness Center. 

Susan Hamblen, Office Coordinator
Susie provides administrative support to Center Activities' programs with clerical and record keeping duties to the various facility locations. In addition, she supervises the day-to day operations of the Center Activities reception staff. 

Ruth Sturtevant, Student Recreation Center (SRC) Supervisor
Ruth supervises the SRC and SRC West. She oversees planning and coordination of staff, administration and management of facility and equipment maintenance. She directs the personal training, group fitness, and SRC summer camp programs as well as maintains facility reservations for the SRC and the Recreation and Wellness Center.
 

Bre Clark, Program Supervisor
Bre oversees the Leisure, Outdoor and Aquatic programing for Center Activities. She develops programs, coordinates instructors, particpate relations and provides logistical support. She also directs the Summer Youth Aquatic and Adventure Camps.  

Chelsea Pulliam, Outreach Coordinator
Chelsea serves as the marketing liaison between Center Activities, its affiliates (the HSU Recreation and Wellness Center, Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center, Student Recreation Center, the Arcata Community Pool as contracted) and the surrounding community.
 

Deserie Donae, Humboldt Bay Aquatic Operations Supervisor
Deserie oversees the daily operation of the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center, including facility rentals, event coordination, aquatic programs, technical support, staff supervision and facility maintenance.

Galen Trexler, Humboldt Bay Aquatics Program Coordinator
Galen oversees the daily operations of the equipment rental and waterfront aquatic programs such as kayaking, stand up paddling, canoeing and more at the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center.
