Personal trainers are certified fitness professionals that work one-on-one or in a group setting with their clients. You can consider a personal trainer as your private coach who will educate you about health and exercise. Personal trainers assess the risks and plan a safe exercise program. Meet the HSU Personal Trainers


Ben Servais, MS, CSCS, USAW
As Head Trainer, Ben oversees the personal training program; he has several years of experience working in the personal training, physical therapy, and strength and conditioning fields. He's worked with athletes from the middle school, high school, college, Olympic and professional levels. He graduated with a M.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport and Exercise Science from HSU where he is currently a strength and conditioning assistant. Additionally he runs the summer high school strength and conditioning camp for local youth athletes.

Anthony Ratto,  BS,  CSCS, USAW
With several years of experience in the Strength and Conditioning field, Anthony has worked with people of varying experience levels ranging from beginning weightlifter to collegiate athlete. He has been a teacher’s assistant for HSU's PE 158 Strength Training classes, assisting students learn proper technique and the importance of weightlifting. He has also worked with the football, basketball, and softball teams during preseason strength and conditioning workouts. He graduated with a B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Exercise Science.
