Program Information

Anyone may register for a Center Activities program. A small discount is offered to currently enrolled HSU students. Registration may be done in person at our Outdoor Center, by telephone using any major credit card or through the mail by personal check or money order using our mail-in registration form printed from our website. Pre-registration is mandatory for Outdoor Adventures and Aquatic Classes and is recommended for the Leisure Classes as space is limited. See the refund and cancellation information on the registration form.

Insurance Information: Participation in all of the Center Activities events is at your own risk. Health or accident insurance is not provided. Student or personal health insurance is highly recommended

Mandatory Pre-trip Meetings: Most Outdoor Adventure programs have a mandatory pre-trip meeting. The pre-trip meeting is an important part of the trip as it allows opportunity to meet other students as well as meet the instructors. The meeting will cover instructional material, trip logistics, equipment needs, and assess the skill level of each participant. If you are unable to attend, please call our office before the meeting occurs so that our staff can plan accordingly.

Transportation: Many trips include transportation in one of the University Center’s 12-passenger vans. Some courses require participants to provide their own transportation to the outdoor trip location. By carpooling, it helps keep the cost down for some of these activities. Transportation logistics, including carpool arrangements, will be arranged at the pre-trip meeting.

Parking Information: Parking permits are required at all HSU parking lots until 10:00 pm Monday through Thursday, and 5:00 pm Fridays. There is no charge to park on the weekends. One day park permits (good all day) are available at self-serve dispensers on Harpst Street or the library lot for $3.50. You can also find a limited number of coin operated parking meters along these streets: B Street, Harpst Street and Rosson Street. In addition, there is a $58/semester Evening Permit that may be purchased through the HSU Cashier's Office. A map of HSU's parking is available in PDF format. For more information, please visit HSU Parking and Commuter Services.
