About the Club
Fish enthusiasts doing fishy things. We have club events, field trips, speakers, volunteer opportunities, and more! Come further your enthusiasm for fish and meet others along the way. You don’t have to be a Fisheries major to join!
Our club plays a role as a subunit of a professional organiziation called the American Fisheries Society which was founded in 1870 (under a different name then). We are part of a larger chapter called the CalNeva (California & Nevada) Chapter. This CalNeva Chapter is part of the bigger division called the Western Division of American Fisheries Society. Finally, this western division is part of the umbrella organization called the American Fisheries Society for the Nation. Their websites are listed below

How to Join
1) Register on the clubs homepage with our club (free)
3) OPTIONAL – Register with our parent society, the American Fisheries Society – CalNeva Chapter (see links). A student member ship with costs $30 and is well worth it. This helps us gain club credibility for when we apply for travel and event funding from them. We were recently awarded $3,000 to assist with our travels to Portland for the annual national AFS conference. Members can enjoy great scientific conferences at a discounted rate, as well as receive a monthly Fisheries Magazine with modern issues and articles surrounding fisheries across the nation. It looks good on your resume and is a great way to meet other professionals.
