Child Development Association

The Child Development Association offers multiple volunteer opportunities, child development centered discussions and friendship. As a club, we strive to provide opportunities and events that can benefit children and their families, communities, and futures. We work closely with several different organizations, such as: CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for children in foster care), Sequoia Park Zoo, and the Multicultural Center at HSU. With each organization we strive to promote healthy child development through educational events, games and understanding.

About the Club

We meet the first and third Wednesday of each month in HGH 105 at 6:30pm.
During our meetings we discuss upcoming events, volunteer opportunities and advocacy projects.

With each organization we strive to promote healthy child development through educational events and games.
In working with CASA, we do our best to educate those around us about the need for advocates for the children in foster care and how early intervention can make a difference. We raise money through our Change for Change jars, participate in the CASA walks and invite guest speakers to campus.
Every year we volunteer at several Sequoia Park Zoo events where we interact with the children and teach them about their environment. We do this through crafts, interactions and games at the zoo’s events.
When working with the multicultural center, we work to promote cross cultural understanding and an interest in learning about other cultures.
