The purpose of HOLA shall be to foster leadership development through the coordination of educational and cultural events/projects. This will be achieved by:

a. Providing the HSU community with cultural events that represent all Hispanic/Latino Communities, including but not limited to cultural beliefs, celebrations, music, and customs of Latin America) to increase awareness of the Hispanic/Latino population on campus.

b. Coordinating with the HSU Spanish program to provide the opportunity for interested parties to practice Spanish with Heritage Speakers and/or Spanish Learners.

c. Coordinating social events for interested students and the HSU community to promote retention among Hispanics/Latinos.

About the Club

Membership Qualifications

-Voting membership is restricted to matriculated, currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff at Humboldt State University that are members of the organization.
-Membership in the organization will not be denied to anyone on the basis of race, religion, national origin, age, sex, disability, veteran's status, or sexual orientation, except as sanctioned by law.

“Any person who is interested in practicing Spanish and providing events of the Latino culture is welcome to join this organization.”

1. Attend our meetings on Thursday 8-9pm or show up to an HOLA event and speak to a member.
