Three full-time post-graduate residency positions are available annually beginning in August of each year and ending in May. Positions have been filled for the 2015-16 academic year.
The residency is for the academic year, with the usual academic breaks. Residents are responsible for providing: (a) short term individual, couples, and group therapy; (b) assessment and referral services; (c) crisis intervention and on-call services; (d) outreach programming; and (e) psychological consultation to the campus community. Residents also have involvement in training and mentorship of master’s level practicum students through Humboldt State University’s Counseling program. Residents receive both individual and group supervision commensurate with the requirements for licensure.
Counseling & Psychological Services offers practicum training opportunities to 2nd and 3rd year students in the Counseling and Social Work graduate programs at Humboldt State University.
