Wednesday November 28th: Psych Talks

Please join us on Wednesday,November 28th for Psych Talks: Challenges to Persistence Among First-Generation Doctoral Students presented by Brandilynn Villarreal, Ph.D.

First-generation college students face challenges in post-secondary education that make it difficult to persist. Dr. Villarreal will present work examining first-generation doctoral students, many of whom also identified as low-income or underrepresented in academia. Academic factors, social factors, and funding influenced whether or not students stayed in their programs or dropped out.

Fall All College Associated Students Mixer

On November 16th, Associated Students hosted the Fall All College Mixer in the Kate Buchanan Room. This event was highly attended, and provided a wonderful opportunity for Humboldt State students to connect with their Dean, A.S. representatives, and students within their college. Along with this benefit, students and faculty were provided with dinner and live music from Tessoulation and DJ Knoxly. The mixer also provided attendees an option to get their professional portraits taken.
