Counseling & Psychological Services

The goal of Councesling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is to promote the wellbeing of Humboldt students. Our counseling services are offered with recognition and appreciation of each student's individual and unique personality, and we are honored to play a part in helping students to strive emotionally, psychologically, and intellectually.

Counseling and Psychological Services are available to regularly enrolled students from Cal Poly Humboldt. Services include:

  • Short-term individual, couples, and group psychotherapy and counseling
  • Crisis services
  • Assessment and Referral

Health Center

The Cal Poly Humboldt Health Center is an accredited outpatient medical facility which serves enrolled Humboldt students. Basic medical services are available at no charge and elective services are available at low cost. The Student Health Center's medical professionals are dedicated to meeting the health needs of the student community, promoting wellness and independence, and collaborating with local and regional resources to provide access to comprehensive services. Services include:

  • Diagnosis and Treatment
  • Women's Health and Preventive Care
  • Immunizations and Skin Testing for Tuberculosis
  • Laboratory Services
  • X-Ray Services
  • Psychiatry
  • Pharmacy
  • Medical Referrals

Wellness Center

The Wellness Center has a staff of student Peer Health Educators who coordinate with the university to create a more holistically healthy community at Humboldt. Peer Educators develop workshops, events, classroom presentations, and educational outreach to teach about:

  • Sexual health
  • Sexualized violence
  • Mental health
  • Healthy eating
  • Body-image empowerment,
  • Consent
  • Alcohol and other drugs,
  • Stress relief

Humboldt's Peer Educators are all trained and certified through the Bacchus Certified Peer Health Education program.
