International Students

Cal Poly Humboldt offers unique opportunities, which aren't offered elsewhere, to international students. Our unique major combines a core curriculum with interdisciplinary pathways in which students receive a minor (or equivalent) in related disciplines such as business, politics, natural resources planning, math/computers, or other areas individually designed with their academic advisor. Unlike many other universities, we offer numerous undergraduate opportunities to engage in hands-on learning through research collaborations with faculty, internships, and service-learning projects. Jing Cao, an international student from China, who graduated in Economics in 2010, and is currently earning a Ph.D. in Statistics and Applied Mathematics, says of our program,

"I liked the small class size in Humboldt. It was wonderful to have more opportunity to know the peers and learn from each other. We worked together outside the class and became friends, too."

You can learn more about the Economics Program at Cal Poly Humboldt by exploring the Programs and Hands-on Learning sections. They will explain both the structure of the program and the many amazing experiences students have while participating in the Cal Poly Humboldt Economics program.
