Bob Kittleson

Biography: 

Professor Kittleson joined the Economics faculty at Cal Poly Humboldt in 1958. He grew up in Lake Stevens (WA), graduated from Washington State University, and earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University. During his thirty year tenure at Cal Poly Humboldt, Bob served as Chair of the Economics Department and Chair of the Academic Senate. He established the original Center for Economics Education at Humboldt, served as the Center Director during the decades of the 1960s, 70s and 80s, and worked tirelessly to upgrade the quality of Economics Education in the region. After his death in December, 2003, the Bob R. Kittleson Economic Education $1,000 Scholarship was created to recognize Economic majors who demonstrate outstanding ability relating to the study and understanding of the local economy and the problems of local economic growth.
