The Geysers is the largest complex of geothermal power plants in the world. Calpine is the largest geothermal power producer in the US and one of the most reliable energy sources in California accounting for one fourth of the green power produced in California. This supervised position will provide an environmental engineering or computer sciences student with an experience in a unique and challenging energy industry / environmental setting and opportunity for hands on problem solving skill development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include some or all of the following:

• Optimize and maintain a Loggernet based data acquisition system that collects and processes ambient air quality and meteorological data from a network of five remote stations.
• Administer, verify, and validate SQL server data.
• Monitor data and prepare Air Quality reports summarizing realtime as well as long term trends
• Complete SharePoint Web Site Design, roll out and demonstrate functionality.
• Modify Access data base to print Hazardous waste manifest reports conforming to current regulatory requirements.

This position will require the individual to work a 4 day, 10 hour, day-shift. Limited overtime work (nights and weekends) may be required. This job will be based at The Geysers power plant near Middletown, California.
