Fire Drill - Harry Griffith Hall

HSU Police/ Emergency Management will conduct a fire evacuation drill of Harry Griffith Hall at 11:05 a.m. to meet annual building evacuation requirements.

In the case of a fire alarm sounding, whether practiced or real, evacuate to the rally point outside your building.

The rally point for Harry Griffith Hall is the emergency phone box in the HGH staff lot.

If you're a student and haven't registered yet to vote in the November 6 election, this is your chance. You'll also have the opportunity to learn more about California Proposition 30, a Sales and Income Tax Increase Initiative, and its effect on students and the CSU. This is a great opportunity to register and get informed ahead of the Nov. 6 election. There will also be free pizza!

IGNITE! The Art of Sustainability

Humboldt State University’s Reese Bullen Gallery presents IGNITE! The Art of Sustainability through November 15, 2012 with an opening reception on Thursday, October 18 from 4-6 p.m.

IGNITE! The Art of Sustainability is a traveling exhibition that features the work of thirteen of California’s leading environmental artists. Using photographs, paint and video as well as effects such as smog and particulate matter on porcelain, the artists communicate “a heightened connection to their natural surroundings,” according to the website Their work displays the rich variety and extremes found in California’s numerous ecological regions.
The exhibit is result of a series of statewide ecological workshops sponsored by the Green Museums Initiative of the California Association of Museums.

The Reese Bullen Gallery is open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 12-5 p.m.; Thursday, 12-7 p.m.; Friday 12-5 p.m.; and Saturday 10-2 p.m. Metered and day permit parking is available.

Lisianna Chilcott: Author Reading, Discussion and Book Signing

The HSU Bookstore presents Eloah's Amulet, a coming of age story about a young woman who must overcome many obstacles to help save her home. Lisianna Chilcott is an HSU student majoring in English. This is her first novel.

HSU Safe Space Training

Safe Space is a welcoming, supportive and safe environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community members. Most LGBT students frequently hear anti-LGBT language and experience harassment related to their sexual orientation and gender expression.

Join Jeremy Davis of Residence Life, Eliot Altschul, Ph.D. of Counseling and Psychological Services and Buddy White of Conference Services as they present on what it means to be an ally for the LGBT community. At the end of the training, participants may choose to take a pledge as an ally and receive a safe space poster.
