This course provides an introduction to sport lead climbing as well as traditional climbing and is designed as a continuation of a top rope and anchoring course. Topics covered will include advanced anchor building, lead belaying, rope management, single and multi-pitch descending methods and confidence building strategies.
Additional Public Info: Registration Deadline: Wednesday, May 1. Prerequisite: Prospective participants must be top rope belayed certified at the Student Recreation Center or have instructor approval. Mandatory Pre-trip Meeting: Thursday, May 2, 6:00 pm, Recreation and Wellness Center Room 108 (Drop-In Lounge). Program Fee Includes: instruction, all rock climbing equipment and permit fees. Transportation will be by carpool.
