The Consent Project: Badass Resilience: A Writing Workshop for Survivors of Violence

HSU Recreation & Wellness Center
Led by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha, our keynote speaker.

This writing workshop invites participants to write under-told, life saving stories from their bodies' fierce wisdom as survivors, to create the deeply necessary stories we need to share the truths of how we're keeping on living and the amazing lives we're making. We'll work on freewrites, small group and body-based writing assignments and grow a "community of trust" where we share our genius and help each other grow stronger. You will be seduced into creating the next chunk of your sacred texts, bringing your resilient body and lean into supporting each other's growth fiercely as the writers we are all waiting for. No experience necessary, but come prepared to write hard, share, listen, take risks and dive deep.
6:00 am-9:00 am

The Consent Project: Open Mic & Speak Out

Great Hall
6-7:30pm: Open Mic (for all to share music, poetry, dance, art, etc). Please email if you would to sign up to perform/share for the open mic portion!

7:30-9pm: Gender Inclusive Speak Out: a space for survivors of sexualized and intimate partner violence to share their experiences, and allies to bare witness.
7:30 pm

Humboldt Unbound

Van Duzer Theater
Who in the world was Alexander von Humboldt? Explore the wonder of his life as adventurer, scientist, godfather of ecology and champion of diversity and freedom in the HSU original production "Humboldt Unbound," a fast and fluid series of transformations creating a dynamic portrait in live theatre, music, dance and spectacle.

Directed by Michael Fields (‘92, Theatre Arts MFA), scenic design by Giulio Cesare Perrone, music by Tim Gray, costumes by Catherine Brown. HSU student Mark Teeter plays the young explorer Humboldt, and HSU professor of Geography Stephen Cunha portrays the older Humboldt. An HSU Theatre, Film & Dance production.

Vladimir Feltsman

Fulkerson Recital Hall
One of the most imaginative, versatile and constantly interesting pianists today, Vladimir Feltsman is an artist of immense range and insight. The Russian born musician has dazzled audiences from his North American debut at the White House to appearances on the most prestigious stages the world over. A regular guest soloist with every leading orchestra in the United States, his vast repertoire includes music from Baroque to 20th-century composers.
