The importance of fire varies across this broad landscape and it is this variability that has helped shape the forests and their unique plant adaptations. Past land management, continued climatic warming, and other issues pose interesting challenges to managing the ecosystems of this diverse region.

Van Duzer Theater
Masters of Tradition celebrates Irish music in its purest form. The all-star line-up features fiddle virtuoso Martin Hayes along with Iarla Ó Lionáird, the former frontman for Afro Celt Sound System and one of Ireland's pre-eminent sean-nos (old-style) singers; virtuoso accordion player Máirtín O’Connor (De Dannan, Elvis Costello, The Chieftains); the inventive fiddler Cathal Hayden from County Tyrone; guitarist Seamie O’Dowd (Dervish), and David Power, an All-Ireland champion on uilleann pipes. In solos, duos, trios, and full group collaboration, these acclaimed musicians bring an unparalleled level of mastery to the spellbinding music they play.
