Art & Music Buildings Fire Drill

HSU Campus
HSU Police will be conducting brief fire evacuation drills for select buildings on campus.

Whenever you hear a fire alarm, exit out the closest exit and evacuate calmly to the Rally Point outside your building. Do not use elevators, assist others and report people who are in need of help to your Building Evacuation Team member or to emergency personnel.

This testings is conducted annually in the spring and in the fall.

Faculty and Staff Spring Blood Drive

Outside of the Student Business Services (SBS) building
The Northern California Community Blood Bank is partnering with HSU for a Spring Blood Drive. The BloodMobile will be parked outside of SBS on the first and third Monday of the month from noon to 5 p.m. to accept donations from HSU faculty and staff.

Donating blood takes about an hour and is safe, (nearly) painless, and one donation can provide blood for three patients in need. Our community depends on regular donations, so please sign up today.

Green Graduates Speaker Series

Behavioral and Social Sciences Building
HSU alum Beckie Menten presents "Encouraging Energy Efficiency Upgrades By Improving Access to Financing" as part of the Department of Economics' Green Graduates Speaker Series.

While at HSU Beckie served as a CCAT co-director, and studied climate change policy in the Energy, Environment and Society graduate program.

Among her many accomplishments are securing a $4 million grant for affordable housing in Humboldt County, and receiving the prestigious Leadership Grant from the Switzer Foundation.

She is currently an Efficiency Specialist with the California Energy Commission working on developing finance programs to promote energy efficiency upgrades for existing buildings and multifamily homes.
