Time: 2:00 pm-3:30 pm
Professor Emeritus of English Tom Gage will be signing his new book, "Gülen's Dialogue on Education: a Caravanserai of Ideas" from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25 in the Library Fishbowl, Room 209.
A significant influence of the book derives from the HSU graduate course, Teaching of Writing, which Gage taught from 1977 to 2000. Also featured at the April 25 signing will be other titles that include chapters written or edited by Gage.
Since his recent book’s publication, Gage has participated in readings and signings at the University of Toronto, the University of Houston, the University of Texas at Austin and at the National Press Club, the site of a Georgetown University Conference at which he was a featured speaker.
During the 1983-84 academic year, Gage was senior Fulbright Scholar of American Studies at the University of Aleppo, Syria. Since retiring from HSU in 2006, Gage has been teaching writing for Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. In May of 2013, his e-book American Prometheus was recognized with two Silver awards from the Independent Book Publishers Association, one in history for “eLit Illuminating Digital Publishing Excellence” and the other for the “Best Regional E-Book” for the eastern region of the U.S.
