Live Production of FUP, HSU/CR's 2013-2014 Book of the Year

Humboldt State University, the College of the Redwoods and the FUP-DUCKED READERS present a staged reading of the acclaimed novella FUP by local author Jim Dodge, adapted and directed by James Floss; a magical tall-tale of a special duck performed by talented alumni of the Chamber Readers.

The first women actors on the English stage pioneer a profession in PLAYHOUSE CREATURES by April De Angelis, performed for two weekends in Gist Hall Theatre: April 24-26 and May 1-3 at 7:30 p.m., matinee at 2 p.m. on May 4. There’s comedy, drama and tragedy backstage as well as on the stage in this provocative glimpse of women lost to history, whose legacy greets us from every stage and screen. Directed by Mark Swetz, produced by Humboldt State U. Theatre, Film & Dance dept.

Percussion Ensemble and Calypso Band

Van Duzer Theater
HSU Calypso Band premieres “Pandemic” by Matt Norman—the first performance of a full-length piece composed by one of its own members in its 28 year history. The Percussion Ensemble also premieres a new work, “Engine Room,” by HSU alum Dante DeSilva, to celebrate the HSU centennial. Plus much more percussion, world music and the usual high-energy dance rhythms. Directed by Eugene Novotney and Howard Kaufman, produced by HSU Music Department.
