Throughout my artwork, I like to explore the relationship between mankind and animals. I find that working in jewelry provides me with endless possibilities in which I can express my ideas and concepts. Because jewelry is so personal and uniquely human, I am able to delve more closely into what defines the line between human beings and animal creatures.
Are we really so different? Do we not all hear, taste, smell, see and feel?
The jewelry I create is not always comfortable to wear; it is often attractive, and restraining to the wearer in some way. It reflects the bonds that we place on ourselves socially, emotionally and physically. The senses are a universal trait that all species share; our natural instincts respond to this language and I hope to create an understanding of how others feel when these restraints are placed upon them.
