Scholarship Opportunities

In addition to the department scholarships, there are also many other scholarship opportunities for Forestry and Wildland Resources students. Here is a list of some of the scholarship opportunities currently available:

Humboldt County Farm Bureau Scholarships
The Humboldt County Farm Bureau Scholarships provides scholarships to students who graduated from from Humboldt County High Schools or the surrounding area. The variety of scholarships are aimed at students who intend to pursue agriculture, forestry and natural resource sciences. Application deadline: April 1st, 2018. Scholarship Application

American Conifer Society Scholarship
The American Conifer Society is offering a $2,500 scholarship to undergraduate students with an interest in horticulture, specifically the study, development, and preservation of conifers. Application deadline: June 1st, 2017. Scholarship Application

Paul J. Zinke Memorial Scholarship
The Paul J. Zinke Memorial Scholarship was established to encourage and reward excellence in university-level undergraduate study in forest soils, rangeland soils, or wildland soils in California. Applicants must be pursuing the study of forest, rangeland, or wildland soils, or a related ecosystem science degree with a soils emphasis. Application deadline: June 1st, 2017. Ben Meadows Natural Resource Scholarship
The Ben Meadows Natural Resource Scholarships are administered through the Society of American Foresters (SAF). Applicants must be enrolled in an SAF-accredited as a junior or senior enrolled in a natural resource program working toward a bachelor of arts or science degree. Application deadline: June 30th, 2018.. Scholarship Application

John Mabry Forestry Scholarship
The Railway Tie Association is offering two $2,000.00 John Mabry Forestry Scholarships to juniors and seniors enrolled in an accredited Forestry program for the full school year. Application deadline: June 30th, 2018. Scholarship Application

Western Chapter-International Erosion Control Association Scholarship
The Western Chapter-International Erosion Control Association Scholarship is for students enrolled in an erosion and sediment control-related degree program (engineering, hydrology, soils, geology, forestry, environmental studies, range management, watershed, ecology, natural resources planning, etc.). The scholarship is available to continuing junior, senior, or graduate school level students with a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the erosion and sediment control profession, and who are a citizen of the United States (not Permanent Resident).
