Gifts from parents and family members make a real difference to the students at Humboldt State. Donations to the Parents and Family Fund are immediately put to use on campus, improving students' experiences inside and outside the classroom. Gifts are used to help fund projects like the new Biology Core Laboratory Facilities, student support programs, instructional technology, academic programs, and much more.
Another project funded in part by the Parents and Family Fund is the new wireless Library Café. Students can now head to the library to take advantage of wireless Internet access and multiple electrical outlets to power laptops and other devices. They can study and socialize in the diner-style booths or on comfortable couches and chairs while they enjoy snacks and drinks.
One proud parent who supports the campus through the Humboldt Parents and Family Fund is Glenda Hay. "I think it's important for us to support the school that is developing our children into responsible adults ready to give back to society. My son is being directly shaped by his experience at HSU. I feel I should do what I can to help HSU in this important task," she said.
Humboldt State University thanks the proud families who supported students last year through the Humboldt Parents and Family Fund, as well as the many who will participate this year.
