SPRING 2017 Submission Procedure for Theses and Projects

Starting Fall 2016, our submission process will be a little different. In order to streamline the approval of theses and projects, and to better accommodate students and committee members who are out of the local area, we are eliminating the Thesis/Project Approval Form in favor of online approval by committee members and program graduate coordinators. A few small changes allow us to save time, hassle, and paper! 

Students:

Step 1: As soon as you know that you plan to graduate in the current term, fill out the Intent to Submit form so that our office can estimate the volume of submissions we will receive this term.
 
Step 2: Submit your draft of your thesis or project to cfr [at] humboldt [dot] edu for the REQUIRED courtesy review by Monday, April 10, 2017. 
 
Step 3: Follow this LINK to make an account on our Digital Commons @ HSU (BePress) page, and upload your final draft of your thesis/project. The deadline for initial submission is Wednesday, May 3, 2017.
 

We will ask for your contact information, as well the names and contact information of your committee members and graduate coordinator. They will be notified via email that your thesis/project has been uploaded. After they all approve of your work, the Graduate Studies Office will conduct the official format review through the Digital Commons @ HSU platform.

 
Step 4: All committee members and the graduate coordinator must accept your work through Digital Commons @HSU by Wednesday, May 10, 2017.

Committee Members & Graduate Coordinators:

When you receive an email with a request to review a thesis/project, follow the link provided in that email and sign in to your account on the Digital Commons @ HSU (BePress) website. From there, you will be able to download the student’s thesis/project, if you would like to look over it. You will be given the option to accept the thesis/project as-is (no revisions), accept with requested revisions, or reject the thesis/project for posting in the current academic term. Once a thesis/project has been approved by all of the committee members and the graduate coordinator, the Graduate Studies Office will conduct the official format review.
 
**All committee members and graduate coordinators must approve theses/projects by Wednesday, May 10thth 2016 (the previous deadline for Thesis/Project Approval Forms + submission for official format review)**
