HEIF Development Manager

Job Description

HEIF is hiring a student to help coordinate the HEIF process over the course of the academic school year. As energy-saving ideas are selected and proposals enter into the development stage, the Development Manager serves as coordinator for proposal development teams comprised of students, faculty and staff.  This student also works closely with the Projects Manager and HEIF Committee, maintaining communications with the Staff and Student Chairs, and serving as support staff.  This position provides multiple leadership opportunities and requires a student who is self-directed and accountable.


  • Facilitate HEIF employee meetings: Organize, schedule, and attend (where necessary) recurring meetings with multiple HEIF development teams consisting of students and staff/faculty mentors. On average there are 5-10 teams per semester, consisting of 10-20 students total, that meet every 1 to 2 weeks.

  • Organize HEIF ideas and project proposal process: Plan and publicize HEIF submission process to encourage students to submit ideas to HEIF. This involves arranging meetings, creating/distributing outreach materials, planning events, generating publicity, etc. Idea submissions are solicited once per year, and proposal development follows approval of the idea by the HEIF Committee.

  • Support staff to the Committee: Schedule and regularly attend HEIF Committee and Sub-Committee meetings, take minutes

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Hours: Flexible work schedule, average of 10 hours per week, maximum of 20 hours per week.

  • Term: start the week of November 17th and go till Spring 2015, possibility of extending position into the following academic year

  • Wage: $11.25/hour
