Classroom Assistants

The Humboldt history major provides opportunities for advanced majors to intern with professors as classroom assistants in lower-division General Education courses. Classroom assistants learn the ropes from professors by participating in course development, getting a “behind the scenes” look at university history education. Classroom assistants perform a range of duties including offering review sessions and guidance to students enrolled in the course. In some cases, assistants may also assist a professor in her/his research activities as well. Credit hours are available to classroom assistants. Experience as a classroom assistant can be especially valuable to students planning on graduate school or entrance into a teacher credentialing program.

Interested students should contact a professor they would like to work with or get in touch with the chair of the History Department.
