Rates include the $30 activity fee and the $100 security deposit - Rates are for the academic year dates: August 16, 2016 - May 13, 2017. Rates are subject to change.

2016-2017 Payment Plans + Due Dates - Annual, Semester, Monthly, Financial Aid and Financial Aid Plus. This provides information on what your exact financial commitment will be, based on the payment plan you select and the room type, room location and meal plan you are assigned.

Four meal plans are offered—Green, Gold, Humboldt and Mini. A detailed explanation of the dining plans can be found in the dining website under meal plans. A resident of Redwood, Sunset, Cypress, Canyon and Creekview Suites must purchase one of the full meal plans (Green, Gold or Humboldt). The table above lists the combined room and board price.

Last day to Reduce Meal Plan for the Fall Semester. Meal plan requirements vary by living area. Please stop by the Housing Cashier window to discuss your options. The next opportunity to reduce your plan will be Winter Break.

All Fall Housing & Residence Life Fees Should be Paid in Full. All residents on all payment plans must be paid in full for the fall semester in order to sign up for spring classes.

Last Day to Give Required 30 Days Notice to Vacate the Residence Halls at the End of the Fall Semester When Leaving HSU. Please stop by the Housing Office to complete a Request to Vacate Form if you are leaving HSU at the end of the fall semester. You are required to give 30 days notice to avoid penalties, and November 17 is 30 days before the end of the fall semester.

Online Application for Returners 2016-17 will be available. Students interested in returning to the residence halls can complete the housing application online at myhousing.humboldt.edu. We have limited availability for housing for returning students. Information regarding the returner application process will have been distributed in February.

All residents on all payment plans must be paid in full for the spring semester in order to sign up for fall classes or order transcripts.

Applications and $200 Nonrefundable Application Fee for 2016-2017 Due to Participate in New Room Selection Lottery. All 2016-2017 Housing & Residence Life Fees Should be Paid in Full. All residents interested in returning to the residence halls must submit their application and $200 nonrefundable application fee by noon on TBD in order to participate in the lottery. In order to qualify for the lottery, residents also must have paid their 20116-2017 room and board fees in full by noon and have a positive conduct record.

Lottery Times Posted in MyHousing or Wait List Notices Sent. Please sign into your MyHousing account after 5pm on TBD to see your lottery timeslot. The lottery time is listed in the Application Menu below the menu item "Room Selection." For those not included in the lottery, a wait list notice will be sent via email.
April 2017

New Room Selection Day. Residents participating in the lottery to return to the residence halls for 2016-2017 will have an assigned time to select their room for the next academic year from any available space. Room assignments for the 2017-2018 academic year are then emailed to residents by the end of May. Students will be able to sign into their MyHousing account through April TBD to make changes to their room selection. After April TBD, please contact the Housing Office to be on a wish list to move to another area.

Last day to cancel from wait list without any penalty; if you completed your application by noon on March TBD, but were placed on the wait list instead of getting a lottery number, you can cancel by May TBD and your application fee will be refunded in full. If, at any time Housing staff offer you a room on or before May TBD and you then cancel, you will forfeit the application fee. If you choose to remain on the wait list after May TBD, the standard cancellation policy applies.

Please see the Housing License Agreement for further information. Please note that the Housing Office must receive such requests in writing or by email to housing@humboldt.edu by July TBD, 2017. Cancellations to any other office does not satisfy the requirement to notify the Housing Office directly.

All students cancelling will forfeit the $200 nonrefundable application fee plus be charged prorated penalties for each day of notice which was less than 30 days. Beginning August TBD, 2017, students are responsible for the entire academic year room and board fees. Please see the Housing License Agreement for further information.

Residence Halls Open for 2016-2017 Residents. The residence halls will open for the year at 7:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Anyone checking into the residence halls on Tuesday will have an assigned check-in time. Arriving prior to your check-in time is not advised and you will be asked to wait for your scheduled time.
