New Employee Process & Forms

KRONOS HR Actions

From the whirlwind of changes within a post-COVID-19 work environment, the new KRONOS HR Ready Module officially launched August 2nd, 2021 to help maintain efficiency with appointments and hiring as the world transitions to find a new normal.

SPF has re-oriented our onboarding process and phased out paper appointment and hiring documents to adopt an exclusively digital and semi-automated system within KRONOS. The HR Action module will function as a module for hiring and appointment changes. For new and existing employees alike, we want to maintain safety and wellness as well as save paper and time while individuals are hired to new projects and go through appointment changes.

We want to sincerely thank any and everyone who helped with beta testing our KRONOS HR Action system. Since going live in 2021, your feedback has allowed us to identify corrections needed, adjust security settings, and overall get the new dashboard working properly. Though there’s still much work to be done, we’re grateful for all of your patience and ability to adapt to this big process change.

With the majority of our PI’s and Timekeepers now trained and successfully using the system, paper appointment packets/forms are officially phased out as of September 1st, 2021.

Any future submissions that fall within the following areas must be completed digitally in KRONOS:

It is imperative that all PIs and/or hiring managers (aka Timekeepers) participate in training using the links above to receive clear directions on how to use this new module.

Please reach out to bnw107@humboldt.edu to request additional training opportunities. We understand there may be a lot of questions. Please continue to provide feedback as we refine this process to make it the best we can for you & your employees.

Required Trainings for all SPF Employees

Every person working for SPF, whether staff, faculty, or student employee, is required to take a basic set of courses that are assigned based on their job position. For the most part, these courses have to be taken within the first 30 to 60 days of employment. Other courses are assigned by supervisors based on the job requirements. These may be required to be taken in the first week of employment. Most of the courses have to be retaken every year or every two or four years.  A few of them have to be taken only once.

Visit https://training.humboldt.edu/content/required-training to view a list of the basic required courses, frequency, a link to the course's page, and more details. This list is for reference only and you may be required to take courses not listed here. Your specific courses will appear in the "Assigned Learning" section of CSU Learn.
