The following links provide information on upcoming grant opportunities offered from the CSU system, Chancellors Office, and Humboldt State University.

HSU Incentives Program for Grant Proposal Development

The Office of Research is now requesting applications for assigned time funding for the fall 2015 and spring 2016 semesters. In addition to assigned time we are also extending funding for summer salary/overload pay during the summer 2015 session.

The purpose of the HSU Incentives Program is to stimulate tenured/tenure-track faculty members to develop and submit full proposals to external funding agencies and organizations for research and educational projects.

Now Accepting Nominations for the McCrone Awards

The McCrone Promising Faculty Scholars Award - This award will recognize 3 of HSU’s newer faculty, acknowledge their potential, and encourage their continued achievement in their field of research.

The Alistair and Judith McCrone Graduate Fellowship Fund - This award will recognize one outstanding graduate student who has been at Humboldt State University for less than an academic year.


CSUPERB - Program for Education and Research in Biotechnology CSUPERB administers and manages several grant programs for California State University (CSU) faculty and students.

2014 CSUPERB Requests for Proposals (RFPs) are Now Open

The California State University Program for Education and Research in Biotechnology (CSUPERB) invites all faculty interested in biotechnology education and research to apply for the next round of funding.  CSUPERB defines biotechnology quite broadly, and welcomes and encourages applications from all related disciplines, including, but not limited to, life sciences, physical sciences, clinical sciences, math, computer science, agricultural science, engineering, and/or business.  RFPs, application forms, and submission information are available at:

COAST - Council on Ocean Affairs, Science and Technology . Through funding from the CSU Chancellor’s Office and each individual CSU campus, COAST provides support to faculty and students with the goals of facilitating and promoting collaborative research, resource sharing, student educational and development opportunities and dissemination of data.

WRPI - Water Resources and Policy Initiatives The California State University (CSU) has identified the WRPI as an opportunity to leverage CSU’s systemwide academic excellence into an important resource for addressing the complex issues about water confronting California today and in its future.dissemination of data.

ARI - Agricultural Research Institute The California State University Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) is a comprehensive applied agricultural and environmental research program joining the CSU's four colleges of agriculture and the state's agriculture and natural resources industries and allied business communities.
