Renewable Energy

Research remains our most potent weapon against threats of climate change, pollution, resource depletion, and lack of a sustainable energy supply. At Humboldt State University, researchers bridge disciplines to seek solutions to these critical environmental issues.

Highly acclaimed faculty design sustainable resources for the built environment, explore renewable energy sources, guide management of the smart grid, inform public policies on energy use, and helf HSU become a national leader in the clean technology sector.

The University is committed to partnering with industry to advance clean technology innovations: products, services, and processes that harness renewable materials and energy sources while dramatically reducing waste, emissions, and the use of natural resources.

Arne is current Director of the Schatz Energy Research Center The Schatz Energy Research Center (SERC) works to establish clean energy technologies in our society. The specialize in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and hydrogen energy systems. Our work involves research and development, technology demonstration, project development, energy systems analysis, and education and training. In addition, they perform feasibility studies, resource assessments, and energy planning studies.

Affiliated with Humboldt State University’s Environmental Resources Engineering program, SERC provides a rare opportunity for undergraduate and graduate engineering students to acquire hands-on experience with emerging energy technologies.
