Recent Happenings


HSU treated guests at the 2016 commencement ceremonies to something truly “Humboldt”: early morning rain showers. Despite the sprinkles, graduates and guests kept their spirits high as more than 1,700 students received their degrees and credentials.

Alumni Crabs Game

Crabs Game

The annual Alumni Crabs Game is Friday, July 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Arcata Ball Park. Register for the event online. Tickets are $15/per adult, and include picnic dinner, admission to the game and the annual Forever Humboldt 2016 Crabs t-shirt! Tickets for kids are $8/per child 12 and under and include all the above except the t-shirt.

Experience HSU Again—This Time as Our Guest!

Humboldt State University is opening up it residence halls for alumni this summer.

Choose from a variety of accommodations. Suites have up to six bedrooms and feature a living room and full kitchen. Two and three‐bedroom apartments and traditional housing in residence halls are also available. Rates start at $37 per night (one to two people) for residence hall housing, $100 per night (up to ten people) for suites, and $150 per night (four people) for an apartment.

Forever Humboldt Has a New Lead

Forever Humboldt Has a New Lead This month alumna Stephanie Lane (‘04, Recreation Administration & ‘12, Sociology) has taken on a new campus assignment in the Alumni & Engagement Office. She’ll be developing events and programming to help alumni like you stay connected with Humboldt State. Stephanie was formerly an assistant athletic director and admissions counselor at HSU before joining Forever Humboldt.

HSU Alumni Crabs Game

Forever Humboldt's annual Alumni Humboldt Crabs baseball game is Friday, July 15 at 6:30 p.m., against the Menlo Park Legends. Are you interested in cooking burgers, helping set up picnic area, and making sure everyone is having a great time? Let us know. Email forever@humboldt.edu to sign up

Freshman Send-Off Parties

Join friends and families from Humboldt State as Forever Humboldt hosts student send-off parties throughout the state. This is a great opportunity to meet other Humboldt families and share your knowledge.

Save the date! Parties are set for:

  • Saturday, July 30, Noon to 2 p.m. William Land Regional Park, Sacramento
  • Sunday, July 31, Noon to 2 p.m. Old Mill Park’s Redwood Grove, Mill Valley
  • Saturday, Aug. 6 , Noon to 2 p.m. Cerritos Community Regional Park, Cerritos
  • Sunday, Aug. 7, Noon to 2 p.m. Tecolote Shores North, San Diego
