The HSU community recently came together to celebrate the life of 19-year-old student David Josiah Lawson, who was killed Saturday, April 15. Family members and those who knew Josiah remember him as a caring and charismatic person. “I’m sad and I’m heartbroken but I know that the last two years that he was here, he was loved. And I see it from everyone that’s here,” said his mother Michelle-Charmaine Lawson. Josiah and his family remain in our thoughts.

HSU Downtown Brings Students to Arcata’s Hotspots
Over the last year, Forever Humboldt made a big effort to connect students with the broader community through ‘HSU Downtown.’ It included hundreds of students dancing the night away at three DJ events at the Arcata Theatre Lounge and Humboldt Brews, and six evenings of new-release movies at the Minor Theater. All events were free due in part to alumni support.
What shouts summer more than hot dogs and baseball? Forever Humboldt hopes you’ll be a part of our annual picnic at the Humboldt Crabs game on Friday, June 30, at the Arcata Ballpark. Stay tuned for more information in next month’s newsletter and at forever.humboldt.edu.
Come visit HSU! Humboldt State offers Alumni affordable rentals in residence hall rooms during the summer. Spaces are available from June 1 through August 8, 2017.
