The Coast is Clearer

Main Feature Image

Under a bright blue sky, Forever Humboldt, Pacific Outfitter’s PacOut Green Team, and other volunteers headed to Samoa Beach to pick up trash. They cleared more than 300 pounds of trash, and as you can see from the photos, they felt pretty good about it.

Help HSU Win ‘Outdoorsiest’ Title Again

Main Feature Image

Crowned the nation’s outdoor champs last year, Humboldt State is defending the title in the fourth annual Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge, which runs through Oct. 15. The contest, designed to get people outside and active, is part of a larger effort to cultivate a new generation of outdoor enthusiasts and stewards of the environment.

Humboldt State is one of nearly 100 colleges and universities across the United States participating in this year’s challenge.

Everyone connected to HSU can participate to earn points. That means alumni as well! The school to log the most outdoor activity will be named “National Outdoor Champion” and receive a gear bank worth $3,000 from North Face.

To join in, just download the Outdoor Nation app (available at the App Store or Google Play) or register on the website
