Alumni at the Crabs

Dozens of alumni came out for the second annual Humboldt Alumni Crabs game at the Arcata Ball Park. This fun family event included a barbecue, raffle prizes, and, of course, great baseball. HSU President Lisa Rossbacher even tossed out the first pitch.

Alumni Gather for Prof’s Retirement Concert

Former students of Department of Music Professor Harley Muilenburg performed for his retirement concert on June 27. Over the years Muilenburg, who began teaching at HSU in 1983, transformed the small HSU chamber choir into the large concert choir now called the University Singers. He also started Mad River Transit (MRT) Singers as a smaller adjunct to the existing jazz ensemble, eventually combining the two in today’s slightly larger MRT.

Alumni Artists Exhibit at First Street

The HSU First Street Gallery presents Young Alumni 2015 through Sept. 6. The annual show features works in a wide range of media by more than 40 recent Art Department graduates. Read more »

Choose from a variety of accommodations to meet your needs. Suites have up to six bedrooms and feature a living room and full kitchen. Two and three-bedroom apartments and traditional housing in residence halls are also available. HSU Fit Program Reaches Out to Children With Disabilities

Conceived by Recreation Administration professor Jayne McGuire, HSU Fit is a program for children ages 6 to 18 that addresses the lack of physical activity and associated health risks among children with disabilities.

Humboldt State students in art instructor Benjamin Funke’s Analog Masters class teamed up with a local band and record label this semester to learn about the business of making music.
