Connectivity will experience a pause lasting up to a minute and most applications will detect this and may not automatically reconnect while a spanning-tree priority is adjusted.
What happened: 
In September 2010, network technicians discovered a misconfiguration in how the campus core routers handled traffic between buildings and to the Internet. While not service impacting, the misconfiguration has the potential to result in sub-optimal network performance during peak usage periods, such as the last three weeks of the academic semester.
