Depending on your role at the University, you will see different tabs across the top of the screen:
These tabs are used to group related information for ease of access and navigation. You can add information from other tabs to your myHumboldt Home tab, which is the page you see when you first log in to the portal, to make your myHumboldt Home tab your one-stop destination for all the information you need at HSU.
Each tab comprises a series of informational boxes called pagelets, which can be added to (or removed from) your Home tab in two ways. The simplest way to add a pagelet from another tab to your Home tab is to click on the + sign in the top right of that pagelet. Pagelets already on your Home tab show a house icon in this position.
In the above image, the Resources pagelet on the left has already been added to the Home tab, as indicated by the house icon in the top right of the pagelet. The News and Headlines pagelet on the left can be added to the Home tab by clicking on the + sign.
Removing pagelets from the Home tab is simply a matter of clicking on the X in the top right of the pagelet. If no X is shown in the top right, the pagelet cannot be removed.
In the above screen, the Library Resources pagelet can be removed from the Home tab by clicking on the X. The What's Happening pagelet cannot be removed, but it can be minimized if you don't want to see it all the time; to do this, just click on the down arrow.
In the screen above, the Campus Announcements pagelet on the left cannot be removed or minimized because it contains important information. The What's Happening pagelet has been minimized (and can be expanded by clicking on the right arrow), and the Quick Links pagelet could be minimized but has not been.
If you want to add multiple pagelets to your Home tab, or explore more customization options, click the Customize Home Tab link under your name in the top right of the myHumboldt screen:
The Customize page enables you to select pagelets from any tab - including some that may not appear in your myHumboldt automatically, depending on your role at the University - and place them on your Home tab. Just check the boxes alongside the pagelets you'd like to see on your Home tab and then click Save at the bottom of the screen. This will take you back to your Home tab. If your new pagelets don't appear automatically, just refresh the browser page display and the new pagelets will appear.
Above is an example of the personalization options that may be available to you, depending on your role at the University.
You can also move pagelets to different positions on your Home tab or any other tab; for example, if you use certain pagelets more often than others, you can move those frequently used tabs to the top part of the page for ease of access. To do this, simply drag the header of the pagelet you want to move to a new position on the tab. The image below demonstrates this functionality; the CSU Portal pagelet is being moved.
