Other Nov 16 2014 - 14:20 All Users CAS connection to LDAP is being rejected via TLS High CPU load in LDAP Consumers has been detected and temporarily mitigated. Sysadmins suspect the main cause to be a Firmware upgrade of the Load Balancers during this a.m. Maintenance Window. The effect appeared to be a slight CPU Load increase of one LDAP consumer of a course of several hours, that resulted in LDAP connections timing out starting later in the afternoon. The CPU load has recovered to near normal levels. Closing Systat.

We are preparing our wireless infrastructure for future upgrades and enhancements. It is necessary that we get our software up to date to accommodate future growth, features, hardware enhancements, and to maintain supportability.

Campus Data Network Oct 6 2014 - 12:52 Campus Staff, Faculty and Students on Wired and Wireless network connections ITS is aware of network performance issues for both wired and wireless affecting faculty, staff, and students. The problem is that we are at the top of our bandwidth capacity. Currently it is a 1Gb connection to CENIC. In the short-term, we are faced with prioritizing and bandwidth shaping services to keep in alignment with the mission and goals of Humboldt State University. The long-term solution will not present itself until CSU wide Common Network Initiative (CNI) project comes to the campus. We are hopeful that this will come in the Spring. Design documentation in nearly complete. After implementation, the campus will be moving from a 1Gb to a 10Gb connection from CENIC to core switches on campus.

This is due to a failing UPS/battery taking the network equipment offline. Tomorrow morning 11/13/14, between 07:15 to 07:30 we will be replacing the UPS to resolve the issue.

We have opened a ticket with the Safe Connect vendor. After change they made, we believe it is working, but will continue to monitor the Wireless system.

System administrators for the SCCM server which hosts the Windows application library are making configuration changes to facilitate MBAM and will need to reboot the server during 2:00pm and 3:30 pm today.
