Campus Data Network Oct 14 2013 - 20:21 Trinidad Marine Lab Only According to Suddenlink, our provider to the Trinidad Marine Lab - Network connections were intermittent yesterday and ultimately resulted in a complete service outage. The issue was identified as the, "ingress of a bad tap" (unauthorized signal leaking into the coaxial network).
Off-Campus Internet Connection Oct 14 2013 - 13:13 Anyone trying to connect to the internet off campus ***Update 14OCT13 @ 1:55PM - Per CENIC, our Internet Service Provider, a Denial of Service attack targeting the Santa Clara Office of Education has been mitigated. It affected HSU because our connection shares an facility with Santa Clara's connection.
Campus Data Network Oct 11 2013 - 17:00 Network users in the MarCom Bldg (088) and Walter Warren Hs (038) *** Update as of 10/10/13 08:50am - due to the power issues today, TNS installed the new UPS this morning. Work has been completed. No outage will occur on Friday Evening at 5pm. *** A new replacement UPS unit will be installed.

Other Oct 7 2013 - 10:31 Faculty/Staff logging into Map-Works ** UPDATE: The data issue has been fixed and Map-Works has finished processing the files...all direct connects should be back in place and all staff/faculty attached back to courses. In my.humboldt.edu Portal, the portlet is still having issues for some, if your portlet doesn't show the link to login, visit: https://humboldt.map-works.com/ to login. ** Due to data extract problem over the weekend faculty/staff logging into Map-Works will not see any direct connected students. And students will not see any direct connect staff.
Campus Phone System Oct 4 2013 - 11:50 Some users using our phone system ** Update as of 10/7 1:11pm Service is available. AT&T performed tests and no problem was found. TNS will continue to monitor closely. Ticket will remain open until October 11, 2013.** *** Update as of 1:06pm. AT&T has been contacted and is investigating the problem. We will update when we know more.*** **Services have been restored at 12:24pm** TNS is investigating. Check back for updates.

Google Apps - Mail Sep 23 2013 - 09:57 UPDATE: Gmail service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users within the next 3 hours. Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change. UPDATE: Gmail message delivery delays and attachment download issues have been corrected for most affected users. We expect a small and declining number of messages to still be affected for the next 3 hours as the remaining delivery backlog is cleared. We are working on several options to accelerate the process and will provide more information when we have an updated time estimate. **Google is reporting degraded service including connection and performance issues accessing Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Presentations. These services may not be accessible until resolved.

Wireless Network Sep 17 2013 - 12:00 Windows Machines connected to HSUWireless, HSUWireless-Secure, or ResnetWireless Our campus NAC vender pushed out a new version of the Policy Key software, which automatically installs itself - however there is a bug with certain versions of Windows where the new service will not start automatically post upgrade.

Wireless Network Sep 12 2013 - 12:50 Some wireless users in Founders Hall ** The wireless network is available right now, but it will depend on how the drying of equipment goes. TNS will continue its updates. ** Update as of 1:40pm The Network Telcom room has received water damage from a water issue on the floor above it. Some devices and equipment have been damaged causing the outage. A building wide outage will be necessary to replace equipment in the near future, and TNS is working to sustain the room so the outage can happen during an off-hour time, but if systems fail, it will require an immediate outage to replace the damaged equipment ** Updated Information - It is the access point on the ground floor ** One Access Point is down in Founders Hall. TNS is investigating. Check back for updates.
Wireless Network Sep 12 2013 - 06:00 About 1800 devices out of 11000 using HSUWireless Due to exponential growth of devices using the campus wireless network, 4 of the 28 IP subnets in our access pool have exhausted all available IP addresses, which may lead to new devices being unable to connect if no action is taken immediately. Network Engineering will be purging all leases from the affected subnets to ensure the usability of the wireless network until additional capacity can be added this weekend.
