Chancellor's Office CMS Campus Calendar and Enhancement Reporting Tools

"This is to inform you of two new tools that are about to deployed for the benefit of the CSU System and the CMS Program.  We have created a consolidated calendar that tracks CMS related high-volume activities at all campuses and a database that will track CMS modifications and enhancements made by campuses and by CMS Central/Baseline.


CMS Campus Calendar

This calendar is used to assist OSS – CMS Technical Services in managing server capacity during registration cycles, start of classes, upgrades, or other periods of high volume activity.  Campuses will be able to add and update their own activities online, rather than submitting entries to their campus liaisons via spreadsheet as was done in the past.  Campuses will also have visibility into the activities at other campuses.


CMS Enhancement Reporting Tool (ERT)  

This database is a repository of the recent modification collection efforts completed by all campuses and the Chancellor’s Office.  Campuses and CMS Central will have full visibility, add and update capability to their enhancement lists.  Campuses will also have the ability to search through the modifications submitted by other campuses and by CMS Central.  Users will be able to upload attachments to their modification lists, such as COMR Exception approvals, Impact Analysis documents, etc…


User Accounts            

In order to access these two new resources, campus users [2/22/13 HSU ITS - TBD ] will be required to have access to the Chancellor’s Office SharePoint site.  The Identity Management efforts currently underway will provide that access to all campus users in late 2010, but in the meantime, we will be setting up user access for all PRIMARY User Group representatives and Campus Directors.  Those users will be contacted with their access information in the next few weeks.  Once your account is created, you will receive an additional notification letting you know that you can access the new tools.  Additional access requests will be handled on a case by case basis until ID Management has been fully implemented system-wide."
