Tutoring

Drop-in tutoring is available through the Math Tutoring Lab and the Science Tutoring Lab for many lower-division math and science courses. (Drop-in tutoring is also available for engineering students.) Location and schedule vary by subject. Check the website for up-to-date information.

Individual tutoring appointments and small-group tutoring assignments are available free of charge for many lower-division and some upper division science courses.

Writing consultations are also available for writing assignments in the sciences. The Writing Studio is located on the first floor of the Library.

How to get the most out of a tutoring session:

  • Don’t wait. Students who begin tutoring at the beginning of the semester tend to fare better than students who wait.
  • Come prepared: Bring your notes and text. Read the text and attempt the assignment before the session. When possible, bring questions. Better prepared students will get more out of their sessions.
