English as a Second Language
Enrolled students seeking help with their writing and reading for HSU classes can make an appointment with the Writing Center by calling the Learning Center Reception at 707-826-5217. For students interested in formal English language instruction, contact HSU's International English Language Institute.

This site has extensive activities and links including a great list of phrasal verbs.
- The ESL Study Hall
This site is maintained by the ESL Department of George Washington University. It has sections for Reading, Writing, Conversation, Grammar, Listening, and Discussion. In addition, there is an area for student reviews.
- ESL PartyLand
Launched March 1, 1999, Karin's ESL PartyLand has received its second award and is now included in the Fun site with over 75 interactive quizzes, 15 discussion forums and topic-based learning pages. The Quiz Center and the Activities are recommended.
- Interesting Things for ESL Students
Interesting Things for ESL Students is a fun study site for students of English as a Second Language including a free web-based textbook. There is a 'Daily Page' for English, proverbs, slang, anagrams, quizzes, etc.
- The Internet TESL Journal's ESL Help
Many pages with access to email questions.
- Randall's ESL Cyber List and Lab
A series of audio conversations with comprehension questions and activities. There are three levels of general topic listening conversations as well as three levels for academic purposes. Free software links are available to use with this site.
