Writing Studio Consultations over Email

The Writing Studio offers consultations over email utilizing the same strategies we use onsite. Consultants will read your draft and respond with written feedback by 8 pm on the day of your appointment.

How do I receive feedback over email?

  • Make an appointment first. Log into our online scheduling system at tutortrac.humboldt.edu and schedule an email consultation. You can also talk with Reception over Zoom and they can set up the email-based consultation for you. Reception staff are available Monday - Thursday 9 am - 8 pm, Friday 9 am - 4 pm, and Sunday 4 pm - 8 pm.
  • Once you make an appointment, you'll get an email verifying your session and consultant.
  • Submit your draft using the online submission form. Be sure to submit your draft at least an hour before your appointment. Drafts should be no more than five pages (double-spaced). If you submit a longer draft, indicate what parts you would like the consultant to review. 

The consultant will then read your draft and provide feedback with your primary concerns in mind. You will receive your draft with comments within 8 hours of your appointment (i.e. if your appointment is at 11:00 am, you will receive your feedback by no later than 8 pm that evening). Please note you will need to revise the draft and make a new appointment if you would like additional feedback.
