The Cabinet for Institutional Change and a report developed by several students and Professor Michael Bruner in the Department of Communication recommended that we provide opportunities for faculty, staff and administrators to meet for informal conversations about issues affecting the university. The University Executive Committee has recommended, and I heartily support, that we have a series of discussions over lunchtime hosted by different units on campus.
Our first two community conversations will occur at Noon on Friday, October 26. Associate Vice President Alex Hwu will discuss the HSU e-Learning program. Traci Ferdolage, Senior Director, Facilities Planning & Design, will discuss upcoming campus projects and how to initiate projects within your division and see them come to fruition. Please sign up for these opportunities on HSU's Training site. Please bring your lunch, beverages will be provided.
Please place the following dates on your calendar for additional conversations:
Friday, November 30
Librarian Joan Berman
HSU Library Special Collections: Centennial Celebration
Friday, February 22
Provost Bob Snyder and Vice President Peg Blake
Meeting our Enrollment Targets: The Enrollment Management Plan
Friday, April 5
Traci Ferdolage, Senior Director, Facilities Planning & Design
What's the Story with Parking?
Updated information will be distributed via University Notices and also posted on HSU's Events Calendar. If you would like to host a conversation or suggest a topic, please let us know.
Finally, let me emphasize that this is an opportunity for anyone who is an employee of HSU to participate. I will look forward to listening to your perspectives during our meetings.
