Recent Loss of Pamela Lyall

Dear Friends,

The campus community is mourning the loss of Pamela Lyall, who worked for 40 years as ID Supervisor and Circulation Officer Manager at the Humboldt State University Library. She died Saturday after six courageous years with cancer.

Pamela felt fortunate to work in the HSU Library, adorning the checkout counter with flowers from her garden. Colleagues remember her for her curious mind and generous heart. She was an actor and was widely known as an important part of our local theatre community.

I know this is a difficult loss for our University, especially Pamela's family, friends, and colleagues. On behalf of the campus, I would like to express our deepest condolences to all those who were close to her. Our thoughts are with you, and we are here to support you in any way we can.

A celebration of Pamela's life is planned for the evening of December 20 at the Arcata Playhouse, with details still being arranged. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Hospice of Humboldt.

Any students in need of additional support are urged to consider contacting the Counseling Center on campus at 826-3236. Staff or faculty seeking additional support may utilize the Employee Assistance Program at 443-7358.

Sincerely,

Lisa A. Rossbacher, Ph.D.
