Why did you choose HSU?

It wasn't a matter of me choosing HSU, HSU chose me. I never heard of the school and only applied because a friend asked me to, but through my adventure here, I have learned that this is exactly where I am supposed to be.

How do you have fun in Humboldt County?

I like to go on day and night hikes, go to the beaches just north of Arcata, and I love to just sit a home with friends.

What will you always remember about HSU?

I will never forget the rain and how amazing it looks and sounds as you walk through the redwood forest.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about HOP (Humboldt Orientation Program). This is my third year involved in it and my second as the Counselor Coordinator and I love every minute of it. I love when I can help a student pick a good schedule for them or tell their parents that they are going to be all right at Humboldt State.

What has been your best experience at HSU?

Joining the Chi Phi Fraternity has been my best experience at HSU because it gives me a diverse social network and a family of brothers I will have for the rest of my life.

Most fascinating thing you have learned recently?

I recently learned that the University used to only consist of Founder's Hall.

Have any tips for new students?

I would recommend that all new students should definitely find their niche here at HSU by joining a club or organization because there are so many to choose from and you can easily create your own if there isn't one that fits you.
